Sponsor a square, be part of the story

• All sponsors will appear on our online list of supporters (unless you choose to remain anonymous, which you can do on the next page).
• Each square will be symbolically linked to just one donor, but Goit Stock Wood is common land, available for everyone to enjoy. This sponsorship does not confer ownership or any exclusive rights to land access.
• You are welcome to visit the square, but please be aware that some squares may be inaccessible and might need to be appreciated from a distance! Don't take any risks to visit your square.
• While we recognise that some people may want to mark a square or leave a dedication to a loved one, we respectfully ask that you don't put up any decorations or signs in the woodlands, or make any changes to the natural environment. This is out of concern for preserving the natural beauty of the woodlands and ensuring that we only have a positive impact on the flora and fauna at Goit Stock Wood. We hope you understand.
• You can choose whether you would like us to contact you to offer you a refund of your donation in the event that we aren't able to purchase Goit Stock Wood - please see below for details. We won't be able to make any other refunds.
• If you sponsor a square before 30th September 2025, your sponsorship will last from the date of your payment until 30th September 2026. If you sponsor a square after this date, your sponsorship will start on the date of your payment and cease at the end of the same month the following year. An example would be if you sponsored a square on the 1st October 2025, your sponsorship will end on 31st October 2026.
• We'll email you about a month before your sponsorship ends to find out if you would like to support us for another year.

Your donation will go towards our plans to buy Goit Stock Wood. But you have a choice about how we'll use the money if the purchase can't go ahead (or if we raise more than is needed). By default, if we can't buy the wood or if we raise more money than is needed, we'll use the money in line with our charitable purposes - to protect the wood and its wildlife and environment.

However, if you would like to request that your donation only be used to buy Goit Stock Wood, and you want to be offered a refund if we can't buy it, you can do that. It's called a restricted donation as we are restricted in how we can use the money. You can specify this by ticking the box below.

If you want to make your donation restricted, please note the following:

• If you make a restricted donation and we can't buy Goit Stock Wood, we'll contact you to offer you a refund of your donation. If you would like a refund, you'll need to give us your bank details (must be a UK account) so we can pay the money back to you.
• We are a run by a small team of volunteers and we don't have a lot of admin capacity to process lots of refunds, so please only select a restricted donation if this is really important to you.
• If you pay by credit/debit card, we will incur processing fees which we can't get back. So if we can't buy the wood and you ask for a refund of a donation made by card we'll deduct 2.5% from the amount we refund to you to cover this cost. If you want to avoid this happening, please make your payment by bank transfer instead.
